Edit: Oh and the strangest things are becoming normal. Every morning when I feed rabbits and chickens I now get to wave good morning to the Haz mat guys and dodge heavy equipment thats taller by far then my house. And that is the new normal. . . .

So I am back, but probably only for a few days. 3 weeks since the slide and we still do not have the puppy back, and now the fire department is playing dumb. Not only are they claiming to know nothing of losing our dog, they are claiming to know nothing of the other dog they lost, and whose collar they had there for a while. :grump: That having been said the towns people have been great. If we get Arty back it will be because the town as a whole has been helping us.
I have started to write about the slide, kind of a story thing. I am not sure weather I will post it, or simply keep it for myself, but it feels good to write it. Here's a quick excerpt from it:

Long ago and far away, that’s how many stories start.  Ha, I almost wish mine were the same, but my tale starts not long ago on Saturday March 22.  I and my family started the day eagerly enough.  That morning we were going to a grafting fair to get scion wood for rare apples, cherries, plums, pears, and more. That evening we had an invite to a family member’s birthday party.
At roughly 9:15 in the morning we locked the gates and left for the fair.  On the way we paused to drop my little brother off at the library, for he had no interest in looking at sticks all morning.  The rest of us go and have a fabulous time, finding scion wood for many wonderful varieties, Keepsake, Williams Pride, Orca, Bella di Giuino, and more.
We arrived back at our hometown library around 3PM, we had no idea at the time that anything had happened.  Our librarians know us and came over to us saying “You have to come see this, we think it might be your house.”  They turned their computers around and showed us what at the time and to our horror we thought might be the roof of our house on the road 200-300 feet below where it belonged.  We were told that at roughly 10:45 AM, barely an hour and a half after we left the hill on the other side of us had a catastrophic collapse creating a monster mudslide that blocked the river, covered a square mile+ of ground, and wiping away every single house for half a mile and more in every direction from us.
