Ocean Exploration 1

Sandor had wandered away from his friends as they played near to the shore.  He liked the quiet of the open water and the brightness of the ocean.  It had been a long time since he had swam in a sea even one so tame as this.  Unlike some of the other pokemon he was an original, he had been revived from a fossil that his half elf trainer had found.  He remembered if only dimly now days the old seas where he had grown up.  His kind had been numerous than, like the magikarp and lanterns that now dominated the waters.  He had been faster than too, not so stiff as if the stone he had become for a time had been unwilling to wholly release its hold on him.  It made him tougher too, strengthening his bones and shell but he regretted the loss of his speed and agility.  Where would he find himself if he were to get lost again. Would he become stone? Or would he simple pass away.  He was pulled from his mussing as a movement of water told him that he was no longer alone.  Gooey floated pleasantly beside him. The large dragon type dwarfed the little Anorith but Gooey had been careful not to knock the bug type over even with the backwash from his own movements.  Gooey nodded to Sandor and Sandor wondered why the dragon never talked out loud.  Never in all the time since the dragon had joined the small kingdom that Nataszia was trying to build had Sandor heard Gooey utter a single word and come to think of it any other sound. 
  Gooey peered at him quizzically and then gestured for Sandor to follow him.  Sandor had no idea what the dragon type might have in mind but he followed willingly enough.  Gooey swam back towards the coast line away from the open water and took Sandor down to a coral reef bright with color.  Sandor waited patiently while his friend swam to the surface for a quick breath.  Gooey was good at holding his breath but could not breath the water as his friend did.  Sandor thought for a second he saw movement in the coral and turned to look at it.  To all appearances it was just another bit of coral and he looked away from it as Gooey returned.  Gooey seemed to be looking for something as he swam back down to Sandor.  Sandor turned back to the reef.  The coral was still there, well sort of, it seemed to be a few feet to the right of where he had seen it before.  Sandor frowned, his vague memories while foggy on somethings were telling him quite certainly that coral did not move on its own. He turned back to Gooey wondering if the dragon had noticed the corals strange behavior.  Gooey seemed to be staring at the coral with both surprise and delight, Sandor turned back in time to see the ‘coral’ stretch and change.  It was a goomy but like none he had ever seen bright with orange and blue speckling so it seemed like the coral that surrounded it.  It did not seem to like being noticed and swam off into the coral faster than Sandor would have guessed possible.  Gooey swam to where they had last seen it.  He looked both fascinated and a little sad.  Sandor wondered if this was something new or if this was what Gooey had been trying to show to him.  Gooey gestured for Sandor to follow again and swam searchingly through the coral. Sandor followed him and wondered what other marvels might hide among the coral.
